Accessibility policy

Website accessibility means easy access to site content and features for the clientele of Emploi-Québec. Three government standards in the area of accessibility set the guidelines for websites, downloadable documents and multimedia productions.

As at November 16, 2013, the Emploi-Québec website partially met the requirements specified in the accessibility standards listed on the Québec government site Standards sur l’accessibilité du WebOpens external link in new window. (in French only).

The Emploi-Québec site integrates the best practices for the use of HTML5 and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), as recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)Opens external link in new window.. These practices allow website developers to make site content accessible to persons with disabilities, by means of voice browsers, screen readers and Braille pages.

Non-compliant content

The following aspects of the Emploi-Québec website do not comply with the three government standards:

  • words and sentences in other languages, in texts in English
  • downloadable documents
  • technical documents aimed at a specialized clientele
  • multimedia documents
  • results of searches carried out via the search boxes in the “Find a job” and “Répertoire des organismes spécialisés en employabilité” sections and by means of the “Search for trades and occupations” field
  • the Online Placement and LMI Online sites linked to the Emploi-Québec website

We will be adapting the non-compliant content covered by the government standards over the coming months, in order to make it accessible.

Emploi-Québec cannot guarantee the accessibility of certain content provided by third parties not subject to the government standards.
