Voluntary Qualification

Do you want to upgrade or obtain recognition for your skills in your trade? You can obtain a certificate of vocational qualification or an attestation of competency by taking part in a voluntary qualification program.

Voluntary qualification is adapted to the real-life labour market and offers solutions that can meet your needs.

Sectoral workforce committees and Emploi-Québec have developed:

  • skills development and on-the-job training programs
  • an approach for recognizing experienced workers' skills
  • vocational standards and conditions for obtaining certificates of vocational qualification

Would you like to become qualified by enrolling in a voluntary apprenticeship program in your chosen trade?

See the List of trades.

Acquiring experience in a real-life context

The Workplace Apprenticeship Program allows you to acquire experience by carrying out the duties for a given trade, on-the-job.

See the On-the-Job Training page.

Obtaining recognition for your current skills

Do you have experience in a trade and feel that you master the relevant skills? The Workforce Skills Recognition program could allow you to obtain recognition for your skills and a certificate of qualification.

See the Workforce Skills Recognition page.
